Overview

The Latin American Regional Section (LARS) of the International Association for Statistical  Computing (IASC) was founded in 2016 in Gramado, Porto Alegre, Brazil. It promotes research and  collaborative work between people interested in the field of statistical computing and related  fields in Latin America, in relation to similar regional sections that form the IASC, all as members of  the International Statistical Institute (ISI).

As part of the agreement between IASC and the International Federation of Classification Societies  (IFCS), signed in 2014, both conferences, 8th LACSC and IFCS 2024, will take place simultaneously in  San José, Costa Rica.
